Self-assembly hooks for 5 and 8mm diameter shock cord
Now you can make
your own luggage/bungee straps and get the exact length you need. These are extremely strong black nylon hooks which use a clever self-locking collar to form an extremely strong union that is easily self-assembled. Buy the length of shock cord you need and use the hooks to make up a strap of the exact length that you want to fit your trailer, boat, pick-up etc. The all-plastic design produces a corrosion free assembly ideal for outside, automotive and marine use. The 8mm hooks can be attached to either a single end of 8mm cord or to two ends of 5mm cord. This arrangement can be used to make 5mm luggage nets, purpose made 5mm cord 'webs' or to make elastic loops attached to single hooks. The 5mm hooks are designed to attach to a single strand of 5mm shock cord and can be used to make thinner, lightweight luggage/bungee straps of specific length as well as purpose-made nets and webs. Self-assembly hooks for 5mm diameter shock cord
Extremely simple
two piece, click-together, design offers ultimate ease of use but makes a very
secure fix to a strong, lightweight, hook. Suitable for 3 and 4mm diameter
elastic shock cord. Buy the length of shock cord you need and use the
hooks to make up a strap or net of the exact size that you want for your
particular application. The all-plastic design produces a corrosion free
assembly ideal for outside, sports, camping, automotive and marine
use. To assemble
simply slip the collar over the cut end of the cord, knot the cord, and push
the collar onto the hook. Two spring out clips on the hook engage with lugs in
the collar to form a neat and secure fixing.

Adjustable and re-useable "Easy Hooks" for 6-8mm elastic shock cord
An alternative to our popular self-assembly hooks which also fit 6 and 7mm diameter cord, these hooks can be easily repositioned on the cord to make fully adjustable straps. They are very strong hooks which feature a lightweight 'tounge' that clips over the tip of the hook to make it completely secure in use. Again, the all-plastic design produces a corrosion free assembly ideal for outside, automotive and marine use. To fit, just thread the cord through the hole in the base, pull through the hole in the side and pull back down through the slotted hole in the base to lock the cord into position. The hooks can easily be re-positioned on the cord to make fully adjustable straps and can be removed and re-used.
For best
results we recommend that you work with a clean-cut cord end. Wrap the cord in
a thin tape (i.e. sellotape) and cut through using a sharp (Stanley-type)
knife. Keep the tape in place to stop the sheath from fraying as you thread it
through the hook. Once in place, cord ends can be neatly sealed with a little
heat-shrink sleeving of the type used for electrical cables.

Hook and Loop Fittings
Small hook and loop fittings feature a loop of 4mm diameter elastic shock cord fitted to one of our 5mm self-assembly hooks (described above). Large hook and loop fittings feature a loop of 5mm diameter elastic shock cord fitted to one of our 8mm self-assembly hooks (described above). Both sizes are available with shock cord loops of varying length and in a range of colours. Please note that the loop sizes mentioned on the Shop Now page refer to the length of the folded loop (i.e. half the total cord length). We can make up cord loops of any length, please contact us with your requirements.

These popular and extremely handy fittings comprise of a loop of elastic shock fitted to a robust, gated plastic hook. Available in two sizes:-
To
make a "toggle and hook" fitting, terminate the other end of the cord
with one of our plastic or steel hooks. These can then be used to
secure a banner, tarpaulin or tent direct to a fixed point.
Alternatively, the cord can be looped around a bar, frame or scaffold
and hooked back to itself. These "toggle-and-hook fittings" are quickly
and easily self-assembled allowing the user to select the exact length
of cord required for any application. They can also be dismantled and
the components re-used.
These
toggles can be used with our 5mm diameter shock cord to make your own a "toggle
and loop" fitting. A loop is made up from 5mm cord, the two ends passed
through the toggle together (as for a single strand of 8mm cord) and
either knotted or tied using one of our plastic cord ties. The loop of
5mm cord is then pulled back at right angles through the slot in the
toggle, drawing the knot into the toggle body and forming a neat
fitting ideal for securing fabric within a frame.
We supply made up toggle and loop fittings in a range of sizes and colours. These extremely versatile fittings are often used to secure tarpaulins, banners, boat and trailer covers etc, and are ideal for securing fabric or canvas rolls or as sail tidies. Each fitting is made up from a single toggle attached to a loop of 5mm elastic shock cord.
