Cord locks have become standard for a multitude of cord fastening applications. They are adjustable stoppers (or toggles) fitted to cords to prevent them retracting into fabric enclosures within garment, bags etc. They are also the method of choice for attaching two cord lengths to form a self-securing drawstring. All our cord locks are supplied in packs of 4, 10 or 50.

Ellipse Cord Locks for 2-4mm cord
These black plastic (acetal) locks feature a stainless steel spring making them ideal for outdoor and marine applications. They are suitable for single or double cords of 2, 3 or 4mm diameter. Please note that our Ellipse Cord Locks are supplied "Pre-aligned" (with their springs compressed) for ease of fitting.  The lock is threaded on to the cord, after which the first press of the toggle permanently releases the mechanism. This captures the cord leaving the lock ready for use.

Spherical Cord Locks for 3-5mm cord
The semi-spherical design gives a slightly 'chunkier' feel to these fittings and provides for a round, concave, pressure toggle which is comfortable to use. These black nylon locks feature a stainless steel spring making them ideal for outdoor and marine applications. They are suitable for single or double cords of 3 or 4mm diameter and will accommodate a single 5mm diameter cord.

Barrel-style Cord Locks for 4-5mm diameter cord

The classic barrel design of these cord locks gives a good grip which, with the large button, provides for ease of use in wet and slippery conditions and with gloved hands. These black plastic locks are suitable for single or double cords of 3 or 4mm diameter and will accommodate a single 5mm diameter cord.

Jumbo Barrel-style Cord Locks for large (6-8mm) diameter cord

Our largest cord locks, these have a barrel design similar to the classic barrel locks and, like them, giving  a good grip which, with the extra-large button, provides for ease of use in wet and slippery conditions and with gloved hands. These black plastic locks are suitable for cords of 6-8mm diameter, although they are a tight fit on 8mm cord and we recommend fitting according to the following instructions.

Fitting Instructions Jumbo Barrel Locks on 8mm diameter cord
Working from the cord end, make a small (approximately 1cm) cut lengthwise through the cord sheath and fold the sheath back on itself and down the length of the cord. Pull the sheath back on itself and down the length of the cord for about 2cm exposing the rubber filaments of the cord core. Cut off the rubber filaments level with the folded sheath using a pair of scissors and pull the sheath back over the rubber core. Twist the end of the sheath into a tight bundle and secure with tape and use this to feed the cord into the lock.

Twin Hole (Double) Cord Locks for 3-4mm cord
Suitable for 3-4mm diameter cord, these black, nylon, cord locks are designed to accommodate two strands of 3-4mm cord, thus avoiding the need for two separate cord locks on a single item. They are hard wearing and suitable for outdoor use.

Twin hole (double) cord locks for 4-5mm diameter cord. Compact design.

These black plastic cord locks are designed to accommodate two strands of 4-5mm cord, thus avoiding the need for two separate cord locks on a single item. They are hard wearing and suitable for outdoor use. Their compact design (height of about 25mm in use) and rounded profile, yet with the capacity to take large diameter cord, makes them discrete and versatile.

Twin hole (double) cord locks for 4-5mm diameter cord. Long-bodied, high grip, design.

These black plastic cord locks are designed to accommodate two strands of 4-5mm cord, thus avoiding the need for two separate cord locks on a single item. They are hard wearing and suitable for outdoor use. The long-body (35-40mm) gives a particularly good grip for ease of use in wet and slippery situations and/or with gloved hands.

Rectangular, weatherproof, all plastic, cord locks for 3-4mm cord
  Ideal for spray decks, kayak covers, and many other marine and outdoor uses. These rectangular style locks give a firm grip on either single or double strands of cord from 3-4mm diameter. Their 'chunky' design provides a good grip in a difficult (marine/outdoor) environment and provides a large surface area against a fabric face. They are of all-plastic (acetal) constuction including the spring, which makes them ideal for outdoor and marine applications and are the lock of choice for spray decks, kayak covers etc. When fitting these locks to cord loops, consider using our cord clips (see our other items) to enhance grip and prevent the loop being inadvertently drawn back through the lock.
